A Freemium model for sustainable and scalable community networks
Quite a few community networks have depended upon grants that were not renewed or the work of enthusiasts who eventually moved on. We would like to describe a specific “freemium” approach to community networking. We seek feedback from others who may have prior experience with any part of our model. We’ll discuss how we’re approaching diverse issues (node installation, network support, 3rd party partners, dual WAN business configurations, other revenue sources) and we’ll report initial results.
